The SRS has finished an amazing season, with the last event being in Ager, Spain. Ozone team pilot Pal TAKATS, flying a very distinct orange Photon with a yellow Submarine won everything. Pal’s performance this year has been incredible. He won the SRS in Gemona and in Ager, along with the 2025 series.
Ulric JESSOP from Ozone’s IT department, flying a blue Photon and matching Submarine, was 7th in the series for the second year in a row.
With 41 Photons taking to the skies above Ager, it was the most popular glider in the event. Add to that 13 Lyghts, and Ozone made up more than a third of the gliders in the competition.
There were three very different tasks in Ager in a competition what will be remembered for its stunning ridges and gorges.
Pal came to Ager knowing that he still had a lot of work to do.
During three fast and furious tasks, Pal pushed on, with not a thermal to lose. His reading of the landscape was impeccable, never waiting around for climbs that weren’t worth it.
It soon became clear that his season win was safe, but he knew he needed a big margin ahead of the others in the last task of the series to win the final event. Pushing hard paid off. He prioritized altitude gain over distance. He drifted slightly off the course line towards the end of the last task but still kept gaining leading points. This gave him the event win too.
In the women’s category, the SRS season winner was Riley Ferre.
Congrats to all the pilots and cheers from all the Ozone team!
