The 15th Paragliding World Cup Superfinal in Pegalajar, Spain, delivered ten days of nail-biting competition, testing pilots across over 900 kilometres of challenging tasks against a backdrop of stunning, endless olive trees. With shifting weather conditions, including a mid-week cancellation and a challenging relocation to the spectacular Sierra Nevada mountains for a 128 kilometre task, consistent and technical flying was essential to survive this season finale. The competition ended in a gruelling 120 kilometre task that deteriorated into an absolute survival mission, with rapidly weakening thermals forcing pilots to engage in extremely slow and technical flying just to reach the end of speed section.
In the overall rankings, Andy Tallia secured the Superfinal victory, flying his Ozone Enzo 3 and Ozone Submarine. This victory marked a huge moment for Andy, “I think the little kid who started flying a few years ago would have a hard time believing what had just happened… Today, I especially feel enormous gratitude for all those who are part of this adventure."
Just behind Andy, Ozone R&D pilot Baptiste Lambert took a fantastic second place, also flying the Ozone Enzo 3 and Ozone Submarine, followed by Pierre Remy, in third place.
Team Pilot Constance Mettetal claimed the overall female title with an exceptionally consistent week of racing, flying her Ozone Enzo 3 and Ozone Submarine to her third Superfinal victory. She mentioned that: "It was incredible," praising the fantastic friends, top organisation, and an Enzo that "flies so well." The women’s podium was an Ozone clean sweep, with Alexia Fischer and Daphnée Ieropoli securing second and third place respectively, both flying the Ozone Enzo 3 and Ozone Submarine.
