The European competition season kicked off with Montegrappa Trophy, the highest-level Cat. 2 event of the year.
After two cancelled events in 2025 and 2024, this classic meet was back this year for the usual fast racing in strong conditions with 5 tasks of between 60.9 and 89.0 km.
The Ozone team was there and our pilots swept both the general and female podiums with R&D pilot Baptiste Lambert in first place, followed by Darko Stankovski in second and team pilot Martin Jovanovski in third, all flying the Enzo 3 and Submarine combo.
In Baptiste’s words: "What a privilege to win the Trofeo Montegrappa! This race is truly special, a short and intense five-day format with an incredibly high pace, driven by very high-level pilots. It also marked the start of my season, my first competition since the World Championships last September. New Enzo 3, new Submarine, all the gear was fine-tuned over the winter. But there’s always that question in the back of my mind: is the pilot still sharp?
I was happy to feel back in the flow, staying consistent at the top throughout the tasks: 1st, 2nd, 1st, 28th, and 2nd.
Excited to keep the momentum going, next stop: Brazil!"
In the women’s class, team pilot Constance Mettetal won ahead of Elisa Deutschmann and Silvia Buzzi, all on Enzo 3.
It was Constance’s first competition as an Ozone team pilot. “The first competition of the season was also my first flying in Ozone colours. We completed all five tasks in fantastic conditions. It was truly brilliant; the organisation was top-notch. I managed to win the competition in the women's class and finished 23rd overall with my new Enzo. I'm absolutely delighted with the result, and my wing and Submarine are performing superbly. I now feel completely confident in them. I am truly proud and grateful to be able to represent this wonderful brand.”
Congratulations and cheers from the Ozone team!
