After 6 days of competition and 5 valid days, the Ozone Caribbean XC Challenge has come to an end. This year the new site at Bonao yielded some epic conditions, and also some challenging conditions with light lift on some days. The light conditions were nice as there was a minimum of turbulence, and pilots still managed to make some impressive XC flights, including a new national FAI triangle record.
Jocky Sanderson was on location all week to guide pilots and provide invaluable de-briefings in the evenings, using the 3D topographic CompeGPS system, providing incredible route finding education and XC coaching.
If you didn’t make it this year, come join us next February for flying at cloudbase in shorts, on the Caribbean Island of Hispaniola!
Cheers from all the team!
