SAPC (South African Paragliding Cup),
18th - 24th March 2007 - Thabazimbi, South Africa
Walter Neser, African Adventurer and Pilot Extraordinaire, has announced the first round of the SAPC (South African Paragliding Cup). A Cat II comp, it will run from 18th - 24th March 2007. The Site is a major new development in a prime XC area of South Africa. The Site is called Thabazimbi (Translated means: Mountain of Steel). The site is in fact inside an active Iron Ore mine, and the exposed stretches of rock create great thermals below launch.
The Largest remaining Colony of Cape Griffon Vultures is a short flight away from the launch, meaning that there are always Vultures marking the thermals and flying with you! There are also great Game Parks and Nature reserves, Etc. where Elephants, Rhino, Buffalo, Giraffe, Lion and much more can bee seen in the wild.
