The Flying Season in the Himalayas is in full swing, and Ozone Team Pilot John Silvester has sent some radical news from the biggest air in the biggest mountains on the planet. John is back in the Himalaya to attempt another massive tandem flight, and he's well on his way to getting it done, he writes: "Alun has got 2 days of good footage...we made a new crossing of a 6100m col on the side of the stunning mountain 7600m Shispare. Took at least an hour to scratch up out of an dead end glacial valley, all ice and snow and rock with a glacier at the bottom to create the thermals! (With a 20km glide to get out if it did not work). We made it on our second try, but just barely - we arrived at the col 20 meters too low, and had to do a bit of ridge soaring at 6000m! Who knows how it worked - we're just glad it did. We were rewarded with a 30k glide through the most pristine white wilderness i have ever seen. I love the magnum...so easy even i have not blown a launch yet!" John also sent us some photos of "Brad Sander launching his Magnum with Melissa in the Karakoram for a three hour and 6700m flight near the massive 7788m Rakaposhi. This was Melissa's 2nd paraglider flight ever... and maybe the highest flight ever made on a tandem!" And also some pics of Colin Hawke, geared up for altitude, and flying his Buzz Z.
