The Downteam Challenge 2009 in Åre, Sweden was the first official Swedish Championships of Acro paragliding as well as the Nordic Open Champs. In Fred's words:
"Five runs were conducted in perfect conditions with sunshine and warm water in the lake. Raft landings, expression sessions, and great acro flying made the event very spectator friendly. The party tent with cafe, pic-nic tables with a view, and the Skysport veranda made for a perfect venue for the acro comp. Åreskutan gave the pilots good altitude to put on a sweet show. The organization wasperfect and the volunteers did a superb job. In the Swedish Championships I managed to get second place flying my Octane FLX 25. It was my first ever acro comp. In the Nordics I was 7th overall.
This event was also a very good display of how good Åre is for acrocomps. It was fantastic seeing pilots do infinite tumbles in the comp, overall, a really good experience!"
Of honorable mention was Siamak Pourkalantar from Iran, who flew his Ozone FLX.2 to fifth place in the Nordics.
Excellent work guys, thanks for flying Ozone and we're glad you're enjoying your wings! Cheers from all the Team.
