Some pilots who received early production versions of the Delta 2 may find more friction than they expect when using their brakes. This friction is caused by Austria Alpine having made an unplanned change to some of the pulleys they supplied to us. If you do notice extra friction, you can take the wing to your dealer for a check and possible modification to the pulley assembly, as detailed in the following photos.
THE FIRST OPTION WHEN YOU FEEL BAD FRICTION IN THE BRAKE PULLEY
Round the angles of the pulley using a sand paper or other smoothing tools:
1. Remove your brake line from the pulley (pay attention to remember the brake knot and its position).
2. Round the bottom angle of the alloy part of the pulley using sand paper or other smoothing tools. Make sure the finished surface of the pulley is clean from any abrasive bits.
3. Replace your brake line into the pulley. Pay attention to do the same knot in the same position as originally.

SECOND OPTION: BRAKE PULLEY REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE
1. Remove the knot of main brake line on the brake handle; remove the main brake line from the pulley.
2. Cut the original pulley off. See picture below. With this cutting tool, just apply enough strength to cut throw the aluminum branch in one go. Do Not cut the webbing!
3. Put the replacement AustriAlpin pulley instead with the small oval maillon, like below:
4. Place again the main brake line into the new pulley; redo the knots on the brake handle. Pay attention to do the same knot in the same position as originally.
