The 2026 edition of the X-Pyr was an incredible summer race, taking pilots on a fast 530-kilometre line from the Atlantic beach of Hondarribia straight across the Pyrenees to the Mediterranean. Conditions were hot and demanding, challenging everyone to work hard through strong valley winds and afternoon storms while climbing up to 4,000 metres. The vibe along the route was fantastic, with a great community atmosphere as fans followed the live tracking and cheered on the athletes at every turnpoint.
Ozone Team pilot Lars Meerstetter delivered a brilliant performance to secure a superb third place overall, finishing just behind Markus Anders in second. We also want to extend our warmest congratulations to race winner Chrigel Maurer for his victory.
Reflecting on the intense pace of the crossing, Lars mentioned that: "The Pyrenees push you to the absolute limit." He optimised his lines beautifully, flying the Zeolite 2 and Sublite harness to glide efficiently through the valley winds. Right on his heels, Arthur Moindrot flew an excellent race to secure the 4th place, while Andrea Conci and R&D pilot, Lucas Bonin, delivered stellar flights to firmly cement their positions inside the top ten.
History was made as German Pilot Elisa Deutschmann became the first woman ever to cross the finish line of the X-Pyr. She showed amazing endurance to complete the entire route. Celebrating her milestone on the beach, she said: "It feels absolutely unreal to make history here.”
Italian pilot Silvia Galli also flew a phenomenal race to successfully reach goal, locking in a second place among the women to cap off an unforgettable edition. Both flew their Zeolite 2 and Sublite.
