As we in the northern hemisphere gradually settle into winter mode, with cooler temps and changing leaves, pilots down under are gearing up for another season of cross country and competition flying. At the recent Canungra Cup in Australia, Ozone pilots took the top 9 out of 10 places! Gavin Zahner reports: Kicking off the Australian season, the Canungra Cup was also round 1 of the Australian Championships, held in the Gold Coast hinterland.  We flew all 8 days, with 5 tasks, losing 3 days to weather and launch validity.  So it was a great week.  The top 9 placings were all Ozone wings, mostly R10's with an R09 and an M3 thrown in for good measure.  Gareth Carter won the serial class on his M3 by a country mile, and was the only serial wing in the overall top 10.  The battle of the R10's saw the young gun Che Golus persevere in the light conditions on the last day to lead the run into goal and take the overall comp.  Australian team pilots Andrew Horchner and Craig Donnell were 2nd and 3rd... we were all flying R10's, what else?  It was a great comp with some excellent convergence cloud surfing and mountain flying on the Australian dividing range.
