After 5 days of Cross Country racing, many of the competitors here have scored a personal best. More than 50 people made goal for the first time ever, and out of the 120 pilots present, approximately 120 seemed thoroughly satisfied by the epic conditions and great task setting during the first 5 days of the comp!

Cloudbase averaged at about 3000m, with occasional climbs going much higher. The conditions were slightly stronger than last years` competition, with climbs in the 4-8m/s range, but the competitors all handled it quite well and used the strong lift to fly the tasks quickly.

Jocky Sanderson was on site helping pilots to plan for the tasks each day, and flew alongside the competitors daily. Pro pilots like Russ Ogden and Mark Hayman gave talks on competition flying for new comp pilots and XC flying strategies. On Friday evening the Ozone Team held a Q&A session where we answered questions such as, "What glider would you fly if Ozone didn`t exist?" Live music and good food kept us entertained on several of the nights, and when the rain finally came on the final day (Saturday), many of the pilots welcomed the chance to sleep in and relax. The last two days of less than perfect weather meant that only 5 valid tasks were flown, but the conditions on the good days were good enough to completely overshadow the lack of flying on the last 2 days.
