British Open St Andre / British Championships
The final round of the British Championships was also the combined British and Dutch Open held at St Andre les Alps.
After three completed tasks and two canceled for weather, in the Open class Ozone test pilot Russell Ogden finished a close 2nd overall behind Olivier Michielsen who held on to his 3rd task lead.
Ozone once again dominated the team completion with a convincing win, taking 1st place with a comfortable margin despite having one pilot less than many other teams. Team pilots Mark Hayman, Jamie Messenger, Wojciech Maliszewski (Mali) and Russ Ogden romped to victory by more than 300 points!
Well done, and big congratulations to Mark Hayman flying the Mantra R who took 2nd place overall British Championships behind Craig Morgan. After 7 tasks Mark has proven once again that he is the most consistent British pilot, completing all tasks without missing a goal. Thats 2 years in a row on the podium for Mark which is a great result and something we hope he can build on next year. Lets make it a win next time ;-)
Jamie Messenger had a good season with a very solid 4th place in the Championships, we expect him to win next time too. We dont ask for to much, do we? ;-)
Cheers guys and excellent job, we're all proud of you and glad that you're enjoying the wings! Cheers from all the Team.
