The European Championships have come to an end in Abtenau, Austria. It was a difficult competition due to very wet weather for most of the time, but in the end 3 valid tasks were held. The competition featured a large amount of Ozone R10's, and there were 40 Ozone gliders at the Europeans in total. Best of all, the top 4 pilots were all flying an Ozone R10.2! Luca Donini (ITA) took first place overall, with Alex Schalber (AUT), Luckos Rafal (POL), and Anders Baerheim (NOR), just behind - All flying the Ozone R10.2. We'd like to congratulate all Ozone pilots in the comp, and also all of the pilots who displayed a great amount of patience during the long stretch of poor weather. We hope everyone found some way to enjoy the region while they weren't flying ;-) Full results, click here. The first task was quite impressive, and we watched with bated breath as the first 9 pilots to arrive in goal were all flying R10s, with our own Luc Armant in first place! We look forward to more exciting comps this season, but we'll also be pretty busy out there flying XC for fun... the Ozone R&D Team, now that we're mostly finished with the Delta, is working hard on some exciting new XC wings for the future and we're having a great time testing them at the moment in classic Alpine spring conditions. Cheers from all the Team, and enjoy your flights! All photos at right by Philippe Arn of Birdwing.ch
