Honorin Hamard

Honorin’s first flight was tandem, with his dad at the age of 3. In 2005, aged 14, he did his first solo flight, following in his father’s footsteps. His brother also became a pilot, and thus paragliding became a family thing.

In Hono’s own words:

“Flying with the family is awesome. We did some competitions together but I was the only one to continue, the only one that was motivated by the competition at high level and to chase records!

I need to be in the air, it’s relaxing and the best sensation you can have in your life, flying like a bird ! And sharing this experience with others is the best thing you can do”

Honorin joined the Ozone R&D Team in 2014. Hono is the youngest member of the Ozone R&D team and is widely considered to be one of the best pilots in the world.

He shares:

“The most rewarding part is when a pilot come to see you and say “thank you for your job, the glider is perfect, my flight was amazing”. When pilots are happy, we are happy ! Helping our community to safely enjoy the air is our main mission.”

Some of Honorin’s achievements:

World champion 2015
European champion 2016
5 FAI world records, with three in tandem.
First ever tandem flight over 400km.

“I really want to beat the best distance in the world and be the first paragliding pilot to break the 600 km barrier. I’ve never won the World cup Superfinal, so that’s another podium I am searching for”
