Honorin Hamard
Honorin’s first flight was tandem, with his dad at the age of 3. In 2005, aged 14, he did his first solo flight, following in his father’s footsteps. His brother also became a pilot, and thus paragliding became a family thing.
In Hono’s own words:
“Flying with my brother and my father is awsome. We do some competitions together, just my father stopped few years ago but he follows all our adventures. My mother almost don't miss any comp, she follows all our flights and she is very proud of us.
I need to be in the air, it’s relaxing and the best sensation you can have in your life, flying like a bird ! And sharing this experience with others is the best thing you can do”
Honorin joined the Ozone R&D Team in 2015. Hono widely considered to be one of the best pilots in the world.
He shares:
“The most rewarding part is when a pilot come to see you and say “thank you for your job, the glider is perfect, my flight was amazing”. When pilots are happy, we are happy ! Helping our community to safely enjoy the air is our main mission.”
Some of Honorin’s achievements:
- FAI World champion 2015
- PWCA World champion 2022
- FAI European champion 2016
- 5 FAI world records, with three in tandem.
- First ever tandem flight over 400km.
“I really want to beat the best distance in the world and be the first paragliding pilot to break the 400 km FAI triangle barrier. My motto : At 20m/ground, you are still flying ! Keep pushing."
