The X-Pyrenees 2014

In the same spirit as the RedBull X-Alps, the X-Pyrenees event is a 439km "coast to coast" race from the Bay of Biscay to the Mediterranean coast, through the Pyrenees Mountains. The Pyrenees, while not as famous or as high in altitude as the Alps, are a wild and rugged mountain range with large expanses of uninhabited terrain. The second edition of the X-Pyr event is sure to challenge all of the pilots who are participating, including several X-Alps veterans. As in the X-Alps event, Ozone gliders are the most popular amongst the competitors, with about a third of the contestants flying either the LM5 or the Alpina2. We wish everyone the best of luck, and hope that their training is going well. Stephan Haase of the USA is currently in the Pyrenees training for the event, you can follow his blog here. To view a cool projection of the route, watch this video. And the official event website is here. We will post more news when the event kicks off on July 13. Cheers, from all the Team.
