“Am I leaving Earth? I am determined to exit at the altitude where the air shines; at 5,620 meters, the southeast heading restores my view. The flow of time is distorted. Celestial blue returns after 1,500 meters of ascent. Two hues define the view, and I orient my efforts using a map's GPS point and the compass. The unparalleled mountain ahead precedes the 4,755-meter-deep Kali Gandaki valley; deep enough to fit Mont Blanc upside down."
Givré follows pilot Boon Favre on an epic, solo vol-biv expedition across the heart of the Himalayas.
The documentary captures an unprecedented line, crossing Nepal from east to west while carrying 15 days of supplies. Flying unsupported, Favre navigates the high-altitude terrain, jumping between mountains and clouds in a 15-day test of mental strength and technical skill. It is a cinematic tribute to the spirit of adventure, showcasing the raw beauty of the peaks and the deep solitude of long-distance aerial travel.
