For the second year in a row Ozone has taken 1st place in the Open and 2nd in the Serial Class of the Canadian National Championships!
Jamie Messenger, who has been in the top 5 of every North American Comp he has entered this year, took the top spot on his Mantra R07.
Gavin Zahner, serial class crack, was 2nd place in the heavily contested serial class with his Mantra M2, just behind the North American heavyweight Matt Beechinor.
Congratulations, boys! Nice work.
According to Gavin it was an epic comp, with 6 valid tasks in 7 days and 5 of them absolutely incredible flying. The tasks ranged in length from 40 to 109km and the top 5 pilots didn't change the entire week, which made for awesome racing. Jamie stayed in the lead every day and took the comp by about 140 points with superbly consistent flying.
Consistent conditions, solid task setting by a knowledgeable and keen organization, and a great site can add up to the perfect comp. Golden, BC provided a great venue for the Nationals, and the results definately show the best pilots in the top spots... but of course the best pilot is the one who has the most fun, so congrats to anyone who enjoyed themselves!
Cheers from all the team!
