Antoine, Melanie, Olivier, and Matt spent the past week in Ghana, Africa.
The Ghana Ministry of tourism hosted the first Ghana Paragliding Festival over the Easter weekend, and invited 18 European pilots to Ghana to participate in the event.
Only a couple of flights had been completed in all of Ghana before our group arrived to take part in the festival, which was attended by the Vice President, Minister of Tourism, regional chiefs, and other heads of state. There were more than 1000 people on launch and in the LZ every day during the event watching the pilots launch, fly, and land, there was a 10 piece brass band on launch, there were radio and television interviews and advertisements, and it was all during a weekend that was already going crazy with massive Easter Parties. In short, the event was a big deal and a smashing success.
The Ozone team took advantage of some great flying weather to test the Mantra's XC potential and to shoot some photos with Olivier Laugero of Chamonix.
On the 29th, Olivier and Antoine set the Ghana distance record from the Shai Hills launch.
