The 9th edition of the Ozone Chabre Open has come to a close. During the comp there were three fun tasks, with a lot of pilots in goal including nearly 20 "goal virgins" and some personal best XC flights as well. The Chabre has become famous in the paragliding world by now, due mainly to the incredibly efficient organization by the Chabre Vol Libre team. The Chabre is not just a paragliding competition - it is an XC Coaching week, a how-to-fly-competition-week, a week of parties and gatherings amongst pilots from all over the world, and generally an event at which the focus is entirely on fun and learning. First overall went to Stefan Bernhard, flying his Mantra M4. 1st prize was a glider flight with Klaus Ohlmann, world record holder, pilot extraordinaire and owner of local gliding school, Eagles Alpine Soaring Academy based at Serres. The glider give-away went to David Aitkenhead, and his glider of choice is an Ozone Geo. Full comp results can be seen at the Chabre home page, please navigate to "2014 Results": http://www.flylaragne.com/ We'd like to send out a huge thanks to David, Rachael, Louise, Brian, and the whole Chabre Vol Libre Team and to Jocky Sanderson for his continued support. And also to the pilots, for filling this event up so quickly every year. Cheers, from all the Team.
