OZONE CHABRE OPEN 2024

The Chabre open was once again an amazing success with pilots from all over the world competing together in the stunning French Alps. The Chabre is the original, often copied but never bettered, fun and educational paragliding competition that Ozone are honoured to be involved with. Suitable for all levels of pilots, the 2024 event was another great success with many achieving personal bests.
Chabre’s meet director Jocky Sanderson reports:
“We had a ball at the 2024 Ozone Chabre open, Laragne, France. 120 Pilots flew from a variety of sites for 6 out of the 7 days and, despite one task being cancelled due to hackers shutting down the trackers, we had 3 official tasks, with the final day being a 77km race to goal over magnificent landscape to 3,000m cloud bases.
We love to share knowledge so the tasks were debriefed each day with additional flight safety and weather lectures. One debrief was led by the great Russ Ogden, who popped in to share his vast competition knowledge, and fly with us on the last long task.
As well as learning, we pride ourselves on the social and inclusive aspect of the Chabre by welcoming all pilots and friends to the appero, pizza, and music night, culminating with a prize-giving dinner, and grand glider and goodies raffle to close a great week.
None of this would be possible without the hard work and dedication of the fly Laragne team, together with medical and safety support. This year I also want to sincerely thank Julien Garcia and the FFVL for allowing us to run the competition and for all the support they gave us during the event.”
Congrats to all the pilots and cheers from all the Ozone team.
