The World Paramotor Championships took place at Chambley-Bussieres Airport (France) from August 21st to 30th. A total of 45 pilots competed in class PF1 (foot launch), 24 in PL1 (single trike), and 6 crews in PL2 (tandem trikes), representing 16 different countries.
Pilots enjoyed favorable weather throughout most of the week. Under the direction of Pascal Vallee, the event ran smoothly, with 11 tasks successfully completed across navigation, economy, and precision categories. It was a fair and well-organized competition that truly showcased the best of our sport.
The podiums were dominated by Italian and French pilots. The new World Champion in PF1 is Andrea Cecchetto (ITA), son of the well-known Diego Cecchetto, manufacturer of the Miniplane Top 80 engine. Nicolas Aubert (FRA) and Pasquale Biondo (ITA), both flying the Ozone Viper 6, secured second and third places.
In PL1, a major victory went to Michael Merle (FRA), who claimed the World Champion title with a strong lead while flying the Viper 6.
Three more Ozone Viper pilots made it into the top 10: Claudio Villi (ITA), Jakub Sedivý (CZE), and Jonathan Hobbs (UK).
A special round of applause goes to Sandra Moreels (FRA), who won the Gold medal in the female category flying the Viper XC. The US pilot Whitney Horky took the 3rd place flying ViperXC even if it was her 1st Classic Competition!
We warmly congratulate all pilots on their personal achievements and thank them for trusting Ozone wings. There are too many names to mention here, but we are very proud that the majority of pilots from the UK, Germany, Italy, India, and the US chose Viper wings for the classic competition.
Seeing all of you giving your best in this championship is always remarkable. At the end, it’s not only about the final results, but about team spirit, the amazing atmosphere, the learning process, sharing experiences with others, and helping each other that make this event an unforgettable experience.
Cheers from the entire Ozone team!
