The world’s toughest adventure race is coming to an end, with more than 10 pilots currently in goal or within site of it. This year’s X-Alps was blessed with absolutely stellar conditions – the best ever seen during any edition of the race – and pilots certainly made the most of it. Congrats to Chrigel, Seb, and Paul, who will share the podium, and to Ozone Team pilots Antoine Girard and Gaspard Petiot, who took 4th and 5th respectively flying their LM5s.
Judging by the statistics, which show that Antoine and Gaspard had the most impressive ratios of flying to walking, if our lazy French team pilots had walked a bit more they might have caught Chrigel! ;-) But in all seriousness, we’d like to send a huge congrats to Antoine and Gaspard who not only made a great result, but also flew more and walked less than any other competitor in the event. Gaspard and Antoine hoofed it for 275km and 359km of the route, and each flew over 2000kms (as measured by the X-Alps tracklog, not in straight-line distance) in just over a week. Stats available here.
Competing in the X-Alps is almost unimaginably arduous, difficult, and challenging. Congratulations to everyone who took part!
Cheers, and much respect, from all the Team.
