The French Championships, held at the Mondreville Aeroclub south of Paris, have come to a close with Ozone Team Pilot, Alex Mateos, comfortably in first place after 7 tasks of economy, navigation, slalom, and traditional spot-landing. The best female pilot, and 6th in general classification, was Alex’s sister, Coralie, flying her Slalom 19m.
The Slalomania slalom race was held simultaneously, which Alex also won, flying a Slalom 19m. Aurelien Ganaye finished 3rd, flying his Viper 22 and Viper 20.
The 15 year-old, up-and-coming pilot, Nicolas Aubert, took place in his first major competition and managed to place in the top five of three separate tasks. Unfortunately he made a few basic beginner errors such as missing an entry gate, which cost him dearly. However, he is clearly one of the most talented young pilots in the world and is destined to be a champion in the future!
In France, the Tandem Foot-Launch category is a very popular event, and three of the teams in the competition were flying Ozone… and all three teams finished on the podium flying the Speedster 33m!
1st. Christophe Charon + Alexandre Bouin
2nd Jean Mateos (again!) + Celia Domingues
3rd Yann Leudiere + Audrey Fournier (World Champions 2012)
Cheers from all the Team.
