The French Paramotor Championships took place last week, from May 12 to May 17, 2026, at the Feurs/Chambéon Airfield in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, France. Known as one of the top-level classic paramotor competitions, the French Open showcased elite paramotor pilots from around the world.
The French Paramotor Championship is held under the authority of the Fédération Française d'ULM (FFPLUM). A total of 26 pilots participated across 2 categories: PF1 (solo foot-launched) and PL2 (tandem trike).
Over 6 days, pilots completed a variety of economy, navigation, and precision tasks, whilst considering some unpredictable weather conditions. Typically, the most beautiful and hottest day finally arrived on the final day of competition.
In the prestigious PF1 (foot-launched) class, Italian pilot Pasquale Biondo finished 2nd flying his Ozone Viper 6 and French pilots François Jaillet, Michael Merle and Sandra Moreels finished 6th, 7th and 8th respectively.
In the Espoir class, Cathy Lipari and Laure Deroche took 6th and 8th place, respectively. Cathy flying the Viper XC and Laure flying the Sirocco 3.
A noteworthy mention and congratulations to KayLeigh Bliss who travelled from the United States of America to take part and finished 3rd in the Elite female category on her Ozone Viper XC.
French pilot, Sandra Moreels claimed 2nd place in the Elite female class on her Ozone Viper 6 to round out her achievements.
Congratulations to all the pilots and the organizers for a fantastic competition. Next on the calendar is the 29th BHPA British Open Paramotor Championships, which will take place from June 16th to 21st, 2026 in Buckinghamshire, England.

"Weather conditions were particularly challenging and unstable throughout the championship, however, despite the challenging conditions, the organisation successfully managed to run a strong competition programme enjoyed by all.
Ozone had strong visibility throughout the championship, with 10 pilots flying Ozone wings in both the Elite and Espoir categories. This representation highlighted both the competitiveness of the Viper 6, strongly present in the Elite category, and the versatility of the Ozone range with Viper XC, Spyder 3 and Sirocco 3 also represented.
Strong visibility, multiple podiums, broad pilot representation and a strong manufacturer result made this another successful competition for Ozone Power.
Thank you to the Ozone Power team for the continued support."
