The 1st World Paramotor Endurance Championships took place from August 3rd to 10th, 2024, at Manston Airport in Kent.
Nine nations competed across both foot launch and trike classes, with 50 pilots participating in the foot launch category and 30 in the trike category. The competition followed a format similar to classic paramotor events, featuring navigation, economy, and precision tasks. However, pilots were given a 5 to 8-hour window to choose and complete their tasks based on personal preference and weather conditions.
Despite the challenging windy weather, nine tasks were successfully scored.
In the foot launch category, Italian pilot and 2022 World Champion Pasquale Biondo, flying the Viper 6, secured 2nd place, followed by French pilot Stephane Fontana, also flying the Viper 6.
In the trike category, Glenn Michelland won the gold medal and the World Champion title, piloting the Viper 6.
Benedikt Boss, who won the British Championships earlier this year, finished 4th, and Polish Champion Pawel Kozarzewski secured 6th place - both flying the Viper 6.
Additionally, French pilot Mickael Merle, flying the Viper 6, took 5th position in the trike category.
It's worth mentioning that Glenn Michelland (1st) and Mickael Merle (2nd) delivered the best performances in the pure economy task, both flying the Viper 6. Another remarkable achievement was by Russell Hesketh-Roberts, who flew the ViperXC and Miniplane to win the same pure economy task in the PF1 class, staying airborne for an impressive 2 hours and 26 minutes!
We are happy that so many top pilots trusted our wings and achieved such outstanding results!
A big thank you to all the pilots who participated and to the event organizers for putting together such a fantastic championship!
