The Ozone Freeride Camp 2007

The first annual Ozone Freeride Camp has been over for a while, so this news piece is a bit late... perhaps because we're still reveling in the success of such a cool and unique event. Or perhaps because it took us a while to get the photos. Either way, don't miss this event next year! The forecast at the beginning of the week was not so good, which kept a few pilots from making the trip down to the Ossiacher Lake, but the reality was several days of very flyable weather, and a lot of fun and learning over the lake and the surrounding mountains. Felix Rodriguez was on the scene every day, making us all dizzy with his infinite tumbling... Mathieu Rouanet was flying his motor over the lake and even down the road, dragging his toes on the centerline... Peter Rummel, X-Alps participant, was there to tell us about walking and flying across the alps as fast as humanly possible... Burki Martens (author of several of the best paragliding texts available) flew his Mantra M2 to first place in the XC challenge... and Ralf Reiter coached many pilots into first time acro and other safety maneuvers over the lake. Next year there will be more of the same, with a stack of Ozone demos to fly, top pilots to learn from and drink beer with, and friends to be made. Stay tuned for updates on registration for 2008, which is coming soon. Cheers from all the Team!
