How to Pack a Wing Into a Stuff Bag
15 May 2020To prolong the life of your wing and to keep the plastic reinforcements in the best possible condition it is very important to pack the wing carefully. Ozone recommends to use the concertina packing method so that all of the cells rest alongside each other and the plastic reinforcements are not unnecessarily bent. Using an Ozone Saucisse or Saucisse light pack will help preserve the life of the wing and aid with the speed and ease of packing. Stuff bags are very popular among paramotor pilots and one of the common questions we get is how to pack a wing into a stuff bag and still keep the plastic rods undamaged. Here is Lorran Michaels explaining his technic.

OZONE - Angel SQ Pro
01 June 2019The OZONE Angel SQ Pro: - 920 grams (size 100) - Designed to maximise weight volume savings - Increased stability - Improved sink rate - Rapid inflation The Angel SQ Pro is the same proven concept of the Angel SQ, made from even lighter materials. It was developed for hike and fly adventures like the Red Bull X-Alps, and for anyone looking to save weight in their pack without compromising on safety. The Angel SQ Pro is a top-of-the-line option for pilots who want to carry a fast-opening, stable, and safe reserve parachute that packs in a low volume, and is ultra-lightweight. The two main factors in reserve parachute performance are sink rate and stability. A reserve parachute with an acceptable theoretical sink rate can easily deliver a hard landing if there is pendulum instability. The principal advantage of the Angel SQ Pro over a traditional round is in its increased stability. The increased stability combined with the Angel SQ Pro's excellent sink rate makes it a higher performance reserve than traditional round designs. The Angel SQ has a relatively large surface area, yet is ultralight, giving exceptional sink rate and stability performance with fast opening times. The large surface area is the principal ingredient in its excellent sink rate — all sizes of the Angel SQ Pro provide plenty of margin within the weight ranges they are certified to carry. Where the Angel SQ Pro really shines is in its high pendulum stability, which can be even more important than sink rate performance. During the development process, which included many real-life test deployments, the Angel SQ Pro's low sink rate and high pendulum stability delivered consistently safe and comfortable descents. Certified EN, the Angel SQ Pro is available in sizes 100 and 120. Supplied with a short bridle designed for harnesses with an integrated reserve bridle, it pairs well with the Ozium and F*Race series but may also be used with any other type of harness.

The Ozone Viper 4
29 June 2016The Viper 4 can be used for classic or slalom competition tasks, and is a highly efficient and versatile performance PPG wing. it is an evolution of the V3, with a 3-line design, unsheathed lines, and a new profile. In thermal conditions its behavior is similar to a paragliding wing, with excellent climb and glide performance and with progressive and intuitive handling that transmits moderate feedback to the pilot. While the core mission of the V3 was performance flying, the Viper 4 is more suitable for dynamic and slalom competition flying thanks to a higher top speed with more stability across the entire speed range. Furthermore, a totally new riser system has increased both speed range and refined control in accelerated flight. A new PK system is built into the risers, and a 2D steering system with an additional pulley to install custom steering modifications for competition slalom flying. Overall, the V4 is a powerful tool for the most experienced PPG pilots who are looking to add competition results to their flying careers.
Ozone Slalom Steering System
29 April 2016Alex Mateos describes his design: The Ozone slalom steering system is a safe way to control direction whilst accelerating along the course. The AM steering system will require a certain amount of time to learn the correct movements but, once mastered, allows the pilot full directional control whilst accelerated without the risk of accidentally activating the brakes. The slalom steering system is not only for competition slalom flying. It can be used by any pilot who flies reflex wings at top speed – this system gives the pilot more consistent control with faster access to brake inputs while using the tip steering line with an improved safety margin. The new Ozone Viper 4 is delivered with special pulleys and additional tip steering lines to install this slalom steering system. More details are available in the Viper 4 manual available at www.flyozone.com

Get UP with O.P.P.!
15 January 2013The Ozone Performance Project began in 2006 with our first initial push into competition wing development, with the sole aim of improving the “True Performance” of our entire range of wings, from Beginner to Performance-XC. The OPP is not just about glide and speed; the focus is on creating wings that are truly higher performance in terms of comfort in active air, agility, and passive safety and stability. Ozone Pilots have now won the vast majority of International Paragliding competitions since 2009, including the Overall PWC titles in 2009, 2010, 2011, and countless National titles. We have chosen to "Level the playing field" by making our top of the line competition wing designs available to the general public, not just to factory-sponsored team pilots. Testing high performance wings in the competition environment has led to revolutionary paraglider performance breakthroughs, including the widespread adoption of functional 2-line designs, shark nose profiles, super-low-drag lineplans, and enhanced panel shaping for ultra-efficient profiles and the cleanest sail-surfaces ever. While speed and glide have now been pushed to levels that were previously thought to be impossible, some of the most important benefits have been greatly enhanced stability in active air and accelerated flight not only in our competition wings, but also in our Beginner, Intermediate, and Sport Class wings. Most importantly, the revolutionary performance improvements have come with no compromise in safety, and maintaining moderate aspect ratios for wings in every class remains a high priority for our R&D Team. While the competition environment has been crucial to the technological advances made to all of our wings, our core focus is and always has been to design wings for pilots of all levels, and the most important design breakthroughs that we have made in recent years have been applied to the majority of wings in our range. Whether you are flying a wing in the Mojo or Mantra series, or anything in between, your flying has been enhanced by the success of our development in the Competition Class. We at Ozone are very thankful to have so many fellow pilots flying with us around the world, and we look forward to many more years of innovation in paraglider design. Thank for your support, and we look forward to seeing you up there! Cheers, from the Ozone R&D Team.
The Ozone Multiball Steering System
16 November 2012An introduction to the Multiball Steering System by Ozone Team Pilot, Mathieu Rouanet. The Multiball System is available exclusively for the Ozone Slalom, our newest PPG wing. The Slalom is an excellent choice for pilots who want to fly fast and carve turns on or off the slalom race course. The Multiball System allows for highly precise and stable steering inputs in highly accelerated configurations (For instance, with trimmers fully open and full speed bar applied). The three sections of the system are “handles” which allow a range of possible positions for the pilot to use – simply choose the section which is most comfortable to reach according to your harness configuration and arm length. This riser system is feature-rich, but clean and easy to use on the ground and in the air.
The Ozone Slalom
08 November 2012The new Slalom is a fast and agile wing for intermediate and experienced pilots who want to carve tight turns at high speeds. Based on our highly successful Speedster design, the Slalom provides a stable base for pilots who want to take their PPG flying to the next level, at competitions or just for fun. Although the Slalom was designed for competitive pylon racing pilots, it is ideal for any experienced pilot who is searching for new levels of agility, coupled with ease of use, stability, and excellent launch characteristics. The Slalom’s high-speed stability and comfort also makes it an ideal choice for high-speed XC flights.
The Ozone Speedster
30 April 2012Ozone Team Pilot, Mathieu Rouanet (& Co.), describes some of the key features of the Ozone Speedster. Now available in 19m to 33m sizes, the Speedster is ideal for a wide range of pilots. Beginner-intermediate pilots will appreciate the Speedster's ease of launch and direct handling, while advanced and expert pilots will enjoy making full use of the Speedster's massive speed range and slalom agility.
