The Spyder 4 is the lightweight version of the Roadster 4. It uses a carefully selected blend of lightweight fabrics for the main surfaces and ribs, along with an optimised internal construction, reducing both sail weight and packing volume. Using lightweight fabric in a paramotor wing has positive effects all around, the main advantages are faster inflation for easier launches, improved handling, a more agile and responsive feel, as well as enhanced passive safety thanks to reduced sail inertia.
NEW FEATURES
- A new, more durable type of lightweight fabric
- Winglets improve roll stability and spiral stability which translates to higher passive safety and fun.
- 3D panel shaping and mini-ribs increase performance and max speed (+3km/h).
- A new optimized reflex profile and leading edge openings mean improved inflation, shorter take off distance, and higher fuel efficiency.
- Higher arc provides better roll response and more precision in turns.
- Rollercam trimmers with sublimation printed trim setting marks operate more smoothly and with less effort.
THE PILOT
The Spyder 4, like the RD4 is suitable for a wide range of pilots, from newly qualified to more experienced. New pilots will appreciate its extremely easy launching characteristics, especially in nil wind. Its improved performance helps shorten takeoff distance and reduces power demands. Whether you are a beginner or more experienced, you will enjoy the agile handling, comfort and high passive safety. The Spyder 4 is rock solid in the air and now more stable in roll thanks to the addition of winglets, making it a confident and enjoyable wing for all pilots.
THE TECH
The Spyder 4 features winglets, known to reduce parasitic roll and improve spiral characteristics. The new arc provides better roll response in turns for more direct and precise handling, whilst also calming the wing’s behavior during side collapses. 3D panel shaping and mini ribs contribute to higher top speed and overall performance improvements.
The Spyder 4 retains the same beginner-friendly, simple, and uncluttered risers, now with a new and improved trimmer system. The roller cam mechanism prevents jamming or slippage, and the sublimation-printed webbing is both durable and clean. The system is easy to use, precise, and resistant to wear over time.
When choosing materials for the Spyder 4, we focused on lightweight design and durability. The wing uses a new type of fabric: the upper surface is made from Dominico 32g with a PU and silicone coating which is both light and durable for improved longevity.
For the lower surface, which is less exposed, we selected the lightest fabric available - Porcher Skytex 27g. The internal structure combines Dominico 32g and Porcher Skytex 40g, using the strongest materials in critical load-bearing ribs whilst keeping weight to a minimum on the lower loaded ribs.
Finally, maillons have been replaced with LinkLite connectors, significantly reducing weight without compromising stability or strength.
CERTIFICATION
The Spyder 4 has been load-tested to 8 g in accordance with the EN 926-1 standard and is recognized by the DGAC. Based on the Roadster 4, it has undergone extensive in-house testing to ensure performance consistent with EN-B standards.
IN FLIGHT
The Spyder 4 is easier and more comfortable to fly than its predecessor, the improved inflation and short takeoffs are noticeable from the very first flight. It is more agile and fun to fly and the improved performance is requires less engine power and offers higher efficiency so is more than capable of free flying without power. The Spyder 4 is a true adventure wing that makes you feel at home no matter what you want to do, from daily fun flights and cruising around to big mountain or long-distance adventures.

This wing is incredibly versatile. It launches as easily as a school wing, yet delivers a top speed comparable to the highest-performance models in the range. The handling is very agile, much better t...
