With the broad-scale introduction of the Dragonfly series in 2021, beginner-to-intermediate pilots and schools around the world have been rapidly adopting this innovative new wing. The Dragonfly serves as the successor to Ozone’s popular Fazer-series, providing both new students, as well as experienced pilots with enhanced inflation characteristics, increased glide, and vastly improved kiting and ground-handling responsiveness. In flight, the Dragonfly is remarkably stable in both soaring, and big-mountain decent conditions - making it an ideal wing for even advanced pilots who want to maintain significant safety margins. And its broad trim-range allows pilots to match their glide to the landscape, significantly increasing their descent-rate when trimmers are released.
Instructors have rapidly adopted the Dragonfly as the “gold-standard” in new-student instruction – utilizing approximate weight ranges of:
- The Dragonfly 18m for pilots from 80-100kg
- The Dragonfly 16m for pilots 65-80kg
- The Dragonfly 14m for pilots under 65kg
The Dragonfly serves as a fantastic cross-over wing into Speedriding and ski-launching, as well as foot-launch environments. For entry-level to intermediate pilots who want a wing that truly “does it all” - the Dragonfly is the answer!
With its color-coded sheathed Edelrid lines, and durable Dominico 30d top-surface fabric - the Dragonfly has proven incredibly durable in even the harshest of environments.
Ozone encourages Speedfly-specific instructors to make this their training-glider of choice, and looks forward to ongoing feedback from both pilots and teachers about their experiences, and adventures, on this innovative new wing!
