Pittarak Expeditions

“So far we have experimented with a lot of kites in the large range for expeditions, the Frenzy, and the Manta, but in all situations we have found that the Yakuza works by far better than either. It gives far more power for its physical weight (which is a big concern on expedition) than any other kite, namely because its high aspect ratio and i find the handles are lighter than the bar. It also handles well on 60 M lines.
As you mentioned other snow kite expedition teams have started bringing them, namely Ronny’s group that did the speed crossing of Greenland last year. For us the big sizes will always be with us on any kiting expedition as they are so much fun to cruise with in even the lightest breeze. Thanks for making a 17m version now – it will help us going even sooner and faster.”

Björn Krautschick

Former World and European Champion and 5 time German Champion

“Buggy kiting was a young sport when I started 13 years ago. Competition was always my favourite. I love racing! And I always try to use the best stuff I can get. After winning the world championship in 2004 I started my time at Ozone and I was able to use the finest kites out there. The Yakuza was a high performance kite like no other before. Stable like an intermediate, easy to control and fast as hell. Winning with the Yakuza was much easier than the kites I had used before. I was able to win a lot of races. Three times German championship, the euro cups in 2006. Now 4 years after the Yakuza started the revolution in high performance racing, this kite is still one of the best kites on the market and I thought the next step would be more difficult. But now I must say the Yakuza GT is another progressive step in high performance kites. The first prototypes were awesome. More stable, easy control as always and faster in all directions. The small sizes are more safe in higher wind speeds and the big ones are efficient power plants. The basis for the next successful years were laid. Now that the kites are ready I can’t wait for the upcoming seasons to prove what we have been working on for so long. I’m ready to kick some ass (if not everyone races with the GT’s).”
