Ok, got our dirty mitts on the 8mtr Manta last week during our spiritual meeting….
1st flight was unhooked in very light winds…sub 10mph, we were immediately shocked with just how much grunt and power this baby has. The turning speed of this kite is shear Amazing and that was really going to show in later tests in higher winds.

One major thing we noticed about flying it unhooked was unlike most depower kites that need to be “depowered” the 8mtr Manta responds equally as well where ever you have it. This means being able to adjust the power your holding down unhooked on the fly becomes a dream.

2nd flight….

Well the wind picked up the next evening giving us a chance to try the 8mtr in some higher winds….25mph + The speed of this kite is just Jaw dropping…The height gained in the buggy is something else..and as for the float….i found myself having a conversation with the photographer whilst airborne. Even in real gusty winds this kite behaved itself remarkably well for such a High AR wing. Once comfy with the pop and float, i tried some chasta styley “re-directs” and found it so quick to come back and forth across the window, that sending it back and forth some 3-4 times was really extending the float and travel.

Now im not one for all the technical jargon about how  A+ B in the tweak of the angle of attack results in X- Y etc…. But one thing is for sure….I did say a while ago that the Manta is the best thing Ive ever flown. (based on the 10mtr). The 8 mtr stops nothing short of matching my views if not extending my beliefs even more….
Im settled on the 10 & 8 mtr Manta’s for the ultimate Quiver for what “I” do….and a smaller Access2 for those ballistic days….
I now feel spiritually touched and complete.
